Body and Soul

In this Academy Award-winning drama, Charley Davis (John Garfield, in an Oscar-nominated performance) is a boxer who goes into the ring as a way to support himself and his mother after his father is killed by the mob. Davis's career flourishes with the help of his trainer (William Conrad), and he eventually defeats the world champion. But he's soon corrupted by fame and realizes he must make amends before it's too late.
