Six years after Hindi Shekhar Mishra Narayan (Arvind Swamy) and Muslim Shaila Bano (Manisha Koirala) elope against the wishes of both families, the couple and their twin boys find themselves caught in a flood of Hindu-Muslim riots sweeping Bombay.
