Prison shrink Dr. Lila Colletti's (Gina Gershon) marriage is over, and her husband wants custody on the grounds that Lila's job prevents her from being a fit and attentive mother. When a delusional inmate (Sean Patrick Flannery) she treated is released, he kills Lila's husband and concocts a story claiming that he and she had planned the murder all along. Even Lila's lover (Michael Biehn), a police detective, is starting to believe him.
