When teenager Rick's (Wil Horneff) scientist mother punishes him by forcing him to clean up her animal lab, he doesn't expect to form a tight bond with a gorilla named Katie who's housed there. But he does, and when Katie's rightful owner tries to wrest her away to make her part of a dubious performing act, Rick "kidnaps" Katie and embarks on a whirlwind trip to freedom.
