When 15-year-old Michio is shipped off to an orphanage after his father's death, he quickly befriends Yasuo, a soprano who dreams of singing with the Vienna Boys' Choir. Plagued with a stutter, Michio discovers that he can sing flawlessly when he joins Yasuo's choir. But when a former student comes back to the orphanage, the two best friends find their friendship tested beyond its usual bounds.
