Refusing to single out his commanding officer, Jason McCord (Chuck Connors), a former captain of the U.S. Cavalry, allows himself to be court-martialed and branded a coward for the rest of his life. In the second season of this Western drama, McCord tries to prevent an Indian war by negotiating the surrender of Red Hand (Burt Reynolds); locals celebrate McCord's supposed death; and P.T. Barnum (Pat O'Brien) comes to town.
