Vittorio De Sica stars as Antonio Carotenuto, a middle-aged police chief dispatched to a sleepy Italian village. With little else to command his attention, the handsome Antonio quickly falls for Frisky, the town bombshell (Gina Lollobrigida). But Antonio is one of many men vying for Frisky's affections -- including Pietro (Robert Risso), a shy young officer on his squad. Luigi Comencini directs this Oscar-nominated romantic comedy.
