John Deakin (Charles Bronson) is an undercover agent and passenger on a train on its way to a diphtheria-plagued army fort out West. When some fellow passengers turn up dead or mysteriously disappear, Deakin investigates and finds that nothing is what it seems. This Alistair MacLean-penned film deftly combines a number of genres: Western, action, mystery and drama.
