Mere days into his new job at an East Coast prep school, an art teacher (Thomas Gibson) is approached by an eccentric colleague (Glenn Close) who regales him with elaborate stories about a little-known Johannes Vermeer painting she's come to possess. Based on the Susan Vreeland's best-selling novel Girl in Hyacinth Blue, director Brent Shields's made-for-TV drama features supporting performances from Ellen Burstyn and Kelly Macdonald.
