Aging Cuban-American patriarch Pancho Duque (Hector Elizondo) passes on his family's sugar cane and rum empire to his son-in-law Alex Vega (Jimmy Smits). But as Alex assumes control, he faces resentment and jealousy from Pancho's children. Their shifting allegiances and struggle for wealth and power threaten the fabric of the family. Nestor Carbonell, Paola Turbay and Rita Moreno co-star in this series from the writer of The Mambo Kings.
