Ulmer helms this ode to the New York City landmark, centering on the relationships between an immigrant cleaning woman (Marsha Hunt) and a group of young artists. Among the performers appearing on stage are Bruno Walter, Lily Pons, Rise Stevens, Artur Rodzinski, Artur Rubinstein, Jan Peerce, Jascha Heifetz, Fritz Reiner, Leopold Stokowski and Harry James.
