In Nazi-occupied Paris, a French theater group protects a Resistance leader while preparing for the visit of a German general (Mel Ferrer). Actress Carola (Leslie Caron), who was once involved with the general, battles her lingering feelings for him and her political loyalties. A live stage play recorded for television, this fascinating drama is based on a play by acclaimed French director Jean Renoir.
