When Casanova (Vincent Price) flees town to elude his creditors, unassuming tailor's assistant Pippo Popolino (Bob Hope) is tapped to impersonate the legendary Italian lover and dispatched to Venice to collect a large sum by seducing the lovely Elena Di Gambetta (Audrey Dalton). But the unsuspecting Pippo soon finds himself hip-deep in schemes and intrigue in this spirited farce featuring a stellar supporting cast and lavish costumes.
