Taken in by New Jersey fishmongers Joe (Edward James Olmos) and Betty (Maria Conchita Alonso) while attempting to elude the police, handsome Irish drifter Nick (Arie Verveen) soon disrupts the couple's discontented stability in this atmospheric neonoir thriller. After becoming indispensable to bighearted Joe, Nick begins a steamy affair with Betty ... until her bitter grown son (Steven Schub) returns from California and blows the whistle.
