Sam Higgins is a young English man living in India who gets mixed up in the dangerous world of opium in Kulu Manali. When Sam disappears, the police assume he's like all the others who meet their end in Kulu Manali, so they don't investigate. Sam's parents refuse to let the case die and hire their own investigator, who gets much more than he bargained for when he discovers a drug ring with influential connections in England and India.
