While obtaining a divorce in Reno, Mary Whitman (Pauline Moore) is arrested for the murder of another divorce-seeker staying at her hotel. But the crime is much more complex than it seems, and it's up to super sleuth Charlie Chan (Sidney Toler) to make sure justice is served. Kane Richmond co-stars as Mary's husband, Curtis, and Slim Summerville portrays the dim-witted local sheriff who makes Chan's job more difficult.
