Set in 19th century Italy, this French romantic drama tells the story of a young archbishop who wishes to break his vows to marry the woman he loves. Unfortunately, the archbishop's powerful aunt -- who's in love with him -- wishes to keep him celibate. Talk about a tangled web! The film is based on an 1839 novel by Stendhal.
