This engaging documentary, hosted by "Monty Python" member and Oxford-educated history scholar Terry Jones, traces Geoffrey Chaucer's life throughout the 14th century, from his birth in 1343 into middle age. After surviving the bubonic plague as a child, Chaucer became a soldier and spy in the 100 Years War. Meanwhile, England experienced a literary revival, paving the way for Chaucer's immense contributions.
