After a stay in a psychiatric institution, Diane (Shelley Long) returns to Cheers to help Sam (Ted Danson) get clean and sober. She enlists the services of uptight shrink Dr. Frasier Crane (Kelsey Grammer), who also happens to be her new beau. Meanwhile, Norm (George Wendt) goes to jail, Carla (Rhea Perlman) gets a proposition from her ex-husband, and Coach (Nicholas Colasanto) gets engaged -- and then dumped.
