A well-hidden secret comes between Russian playwright Anton Chekhov (Ron Bottitta) and his doting sister Maria (Gillian Brashear), who is caring for her brother while he suffers from tuberculosis and works frantically to complete his final play, "The Cherry Orchard." Upon learning that her brother married an actress without telling her, Maria feels betrayed by his coolly concealed deception, and her anger drives her to act in unpredictable ways.
