In this Bollywood classic, a doctor's scheme to give a childless mother (Meena Kumari) a baby backfires mostly because the child he gave up was his own. Sacrificing his own son, widower Dr. Anand (Rajendra Kumar) gets pulled into an even larger drama when a greedy nurse (Minoo Mumtaz) blackmails him into marrying her in exchange for her silence. Meanwhile, she has designs on getting his son back -- but for all the wrong reasons.
