Smooth-talking mental patient Mickey (Keith Carradine) frequents a local bar after escaping from his ward and unwittingly brings together several lost souls in this romantic comedy marked by hilarious, moving and thought-provoking moments. Radio sex therapist Dr. Nancy Love (Genevieve Bujold), bar owner Eve (Lesley Ann Warren) and aspiring poetess Pearl (Rae Dawn Chong) all find themselves drawn to Mickey, who ends up transforming their lives.
