Cimarron

Set during the Oklahoma Land Rush of 1889, director Anthony Mann's Oscar-nominated adaptation of the Edna Ferber novel stars Glenn Ford as footloose frontiersman Yancey Cravat, whose lust for adventure clashes with his wife's (Maria Schell) dreams of a stable life. Yancey has the chance to redeem himself when he's offered the governorship but finds his budding political career in jeopardy when he takes a stance against unethical legislation.
