When circus owner Matt Masters (John Wayne) takes his financially troubled show on the road in Europe, he tries to locate former lover Lili (Rita Hayworth), who fled years ago when her husband perished after learning of her affair. Masters brings Lili's young daughter Toni (Claudia Cardinale) along, but is it enough to draw the former star acrobat out of her self-imposed exile? Henry Hathaway directs this Golden Globe-winning drama.
