A traveling circus becomes the center of a series of crimes when a burglary takes place, and one of the thieves gets stabbed to death. Inspector Elliott (Leo Genn) is assigned to the case, and his hunt for the missing cash points to the Barberini Circus. After the elusive assassin kills a circus member, Elliott finds that the circus harbors many secrets; will they lead him to the money and the killer? Christopher Lee co-stars as a lion tamer.
