Training their cameras on the Big Apple Circus for an entire traveling season, filmmakers Maro Chermayeff and Jeff Dupre capture a fascinating world of uncommon characters who have devoted their lives to the art of entertaining others. The result is a six-part study of the men and women who make the modern-day circus work, as well as a look at behind-the-scenes drama that cheering crowds never get to see.
