City Without Men

When her fiancé, Tom (Michael Duane), is wrongly imprisoned, Nancy Johnson (Linda Darnell) takes up residence in a rough-and-tumble boarding house filled with inmates' wives, then hires alcoholic lawyer Michael Mallory (Edgar Buchanan) to prove her lover's innocence. Mallory gets nowhere, but when a botched jailbreak reveals new evidence, he forsakes the bottle to prove Tom's innocence in court. Margaret Hamilton co-stars.
