The prequel to Lonesome Dove, this Western miniseries follows the early adventures of Texas Rangers Gus McCrae (Steve Zahn) and Woodrow F. Call (Karl Urban) as they team up with Capt. Inish Scull (Val Kilmer) to capture three dangerous outlaws. Meanwhile, Gus tries to prevent his love, Clara (Linda Cardellini), from marrying another, and Woodrow learns that the young prostitute Maggie (Elizabeth Banks) is having his son.
