Lee Van Cleef chews scenery as a battle-hardened sergeant who leads a group of American commandos on a crucial mission in this World War II film directed by Armando Crispino. Disguised as Italian soldiers, Sgt. Sullivan (Van Cleef) and his men set out to infiltrate a North African post held by the Italians. Adding tension to the difficult mission is naive and arrogant Capt. Valli (Jack Kelly), who questions Sullivan's decisions at every turn.
