Confederate officer Johnny Carter (Ray Milland) battles corrupt lawmen who are putting the pressure on downtrodden miners. Desperate, the miners begin looking to Carter for salvation, but there's a hitch: Carter's not really who he claims to be; he's actually a vaudeville gunslinger. Hedy Lamarr co-stars.
