Cousin Bette

In this satire, based on the writings of Honor de Balzac, a spinster cousin, Bette (Jessica Lange), steps in to help "take care" of her family, which is rapidly losing its fortune due to the spending habits of the son, Bette's cousin Hector (Hugh Laurie). Bette plots to bring down her family, first arousing jealousy by finding a benefactor for Hector's mistress, singer Jenny Cadine (Elisabeth Shue). Will the others yield to Bette's will?
