Cows

Two families from the Basque region of Spain become entwined in a civil war in 1875, leaving behind a score for future generations to settle. As the decades eke on, a patriarch becomes an observer -- of his own family and how they intermingle with the enemy, but also of his farmland surroundings -- and finds peace by painting cows that dot the landscape. Julio Medem directs this family saga spanning over half a century.
