When philandering stage star Wylie Thornton (Paul Cavanagh) is shot to death during a surprise party at the theater, all signs point to a gun-toting chimpanzee. But ace detective Jim Hanvey (C. Aubrey Smith) isn't buying this monkey business. It's up to Hanvey and bumbling cop Marty Gallagher (Sam Hardy) to solve the murder before their rival, motor-mouth reporter Terry Mooney (Russell Hopton), does in this fast-paced whodunit.
