Beau McCammon (Brad Dourif) returns to New Orleans to attend his sister's funeral and face his family's sordid past. His father, a wealthy senator, has just won re-election by a razor-thin margin, and Beau is beginning to realize that his sister's death may have been a murder. When Beau sets out to discover who might have benefited from her death, he begins to uncover all kinds of family secrets.
