Actor Gerald McRaney narrates this documentary that aired on the History Channel in 1994, on the 50th anniversary of Operation Overlord -- better known as D-Day. The film details the crucial hours when the Allied command unleashed its combined forces on the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 1944. Archival combat footage, vintage stills and eyewitness accounts bring to life the monumental event, arguably the most important moment of World War II.
