When a boy disappears at a fair, his childhood girlfriend never gives up hope that he'll return in B.R. Chopra's gripping romance. Everyone fears the worst when Sunil (Dilip Kumar) vanishes, but devoted Meena (Sharmila Tagore) believes he's still alive. Unable to remember any of his past, Sunil is raised in a small village as Vishnu Sahay, marries and becomes a judge. Will fate intervene and give Meena the chance to reunite with her true love?
