David Copperfield

In the first of producer David O. Selznik's classic literary adaptations, Freddie Bartholomew plays David Copperfield, a young man who finds himself buffeted from household to household after his mother dies. George Cukor directs this Oscar-nominated production, which also stars Basil Rathbone as David's stepfather, W.C. Fields as the ever-in-debt Mr. Micawber, Lionel Barrymore, Frank Lawton as the grown-up David and Maureen O'Sullivan.
