When Childhood friends Shakti and Shankar help Shankar's father in his small-time smuggling racket, they find their local status rising -- especially after a street brawl involving a heavy-handed cop ends in Shakti killing the policeman. Eventually, one of the boys achieves godfather status among the locals and begins trying to improve their lives. Firoz Khan, Vinod Khanna, Madhuri Dixit, Aditya Pancholi and Amrish Puri star.
