In the Texas Republic of the 1840s, many different races and groups fight for control over the same harsh land. Texas Rangers Augustus "Gus" McCrae (David Arquette) and Woodrow F. Call (Jonny Lee Miller) join an ill-conceived effort to capture Santa Fe and annex New Mexico. And, led by a land pirate and guided by the legendary Bigfoot Wallace and Shadrach, the group confronts death, imprisonment and love in an unforgiving world.
