An enthralling operatic adaptation of Thomas Mann's haunting novella, Death in Venice cedes none of the book's dramatic impact. Aging writer Gustav von Aschenbach visits Venice and sees a handsome boy whose beauty obsesses him. Completely bewitched, Gustav struggles with his desire to please the boy, but his blind passion leads to his humiliation and precipitous fall from grace.
