While reeling from her boyfriend's tragic death, traumatized teenager Claire (Julia Brendler) meets novelist Celia (Lynn Redgrave), who shares the story of an ancient island curse and its connection to Silly (Kirsten Dunst), a young girl who also experienced great loss early in life. As Claire listens to Silly's triumphs and tribulations, she begins to understand the real healing power of a well-told story.
