Los Angeles lawyer T.K. Katwuller (Barbara Hershey) steps in as defense attorney for her former college roommate, Ellie Seldes (Mary Beth Hurt), when she's charged with offing her husband, Steven (J.T. Walsh) -- who happened to be T.K.'s lover. It seems plenty of people had cause to kill Steven, a real-estate broker who may have been bankrolling child pornography. But secrets soon emerge that make T.K. suspect her client in this taut whodunit.
