Renowned choreographer Frederick Ashton creates an intricate story of love, passion and jealousy. His trademark footwork and athletic jump sequences illustrate the Greek myth of Sylvia, whose beauty moves Orion to kidnap her. Originally staged in three parts, the ballet was later cut down to a single act. The Royal Ballet revives Ashton's three-act production, with Thiago Soares as Orion and Darcey Bussell in the title role.
