Delusions of Grandeur

  (1971)
After nobleman Don Salluste de Bazan (Louis de Funès) is banned from appearing in court, he and his assistant, Blaze (Yves Montand), are sentenced to collect taxes from the kingdom's poorest subjects. But what the aristocrat doesn't realize is that his sidekick is secretly helping the peasants pay up. This slapstick comedy -- with a touch of actual French history -- is loosely based on the dramatic play "Rus Blas" by Victor Hugo
