Destiny of a Man

Sergei Bondarchuk directs and stars in this gripping drama about Andrei Sokolov, a Russian who endures the atrocities of World War II and eventually finds hope by befriending a young boy. When his wife and daughter are killed during a Nazi attack on his village, and his own spirit is crushed by concentration camp imprisonment, Sokolov joins the Soviet army as it descends upon Berlin. There, despite all odds, an orphan helps him start anew.
