Detective Story

This gritty urban drama chronicles a day in the lives of detectives at a Manhattan police precinct, including James McLeod (Kirk Douglas), a cop who sees everything in black-and-white terms. His take-no-prisoners attitude could wreck the life of a young man arrested for a minor offense, as well as McLeod's own marriage. William Wyler directs this adaptation of Sidney Kingsley's Broadway play that co-stars Lee Grant in her film debut.
