After a hunter (Pran) secretly marries the maharani (Indrani Mukherjee) of an Indian kingdom, a tigress attacks him. Believing her husband dead, the now-pregnant queen marries the prince of a neighboring state (Pradeep Kumar) -- who's also killed. She gives birth to twins, who're then separated. This fantastical drama follow the two boys as they grow up leading different lives -- one as a pauper, the other as a prince.
