A spinoff of the series "Jake and the Fatman," this combination medical drama and whodunit stars Dick Van Dyke as Dr. Mark Sloan, a dedicated physician ... and occasional gumshoe. Aided by his detective son (Barry Van Dyke) and able staff -- resident Jack Stewart (Scott Baio) and pathologist Amanda Bentley-Livingston (Victoria Rowell) -- the good doctor helps the Los Angeles Police Department crack many a case.
