Dick Van Dyke stars as Los Angeles physician and amateur private eye Dr. Mark Sloan in this popular television drama series. Sloan's police detective son (Barry Van Dyke) helps him crack the unusual murder cases that always seem to land on his desk. Other hospital colleagues assist Sloan with his sleuthing, including resident Jack Stewart (Scott Baio) and pathologist Amanda Bentley-Livingston (Victoria Rowell).
