The free-spirited Marta (Italian beauty Claudia Cardinale) moves to the big city and gets a job as a telephone operator. She and her pal Nanda (Catherine Spaak) are both looking for love -- only Marta prefers the less permanent variety. Soon, she starts using the switchboard as a means of finding men. And before long, Marta and Nanda are making love connections with rich, lonely fellows all across Europe in this charming romantic comedy.
